Chocolate Explosion!!!

I found this recipe for chocolate mocacchino layer cupcakes and thought they might be nice to make for Mikey's upcoming birthday party. As I have learned in the past you must always try the recipe to make sure it works... you know, it's tasty! When I finished baking them I thought to myself... hmmm, what the heck am I going to do with all these cupcakes now? Needless to say the neighbors are going to get a little treat when they get home from work today. Then the idea hit me. I could give Mikey a cupcake and let him practice for the 'big day', right? Right! I knew that it would be messy, but I no idea.

This is pretty tasty Mommy...

Yummy!!!

I wonder what it tastes like if I smear it everywhere....

Yup, still yummy!

The spoon is even delicious!

And look! I even saved some for later!

Ahhh... a clean babe again! I think he approves.

Not to bad I must say... they almost look like the picture!

But, no more messes like that until the 'big day' kiddo!!! ;-)

Go Wisla!

For those of you who don't know, my hubby is a HUGE fan of Wisla soccer. Wisla (pronounced Visla) is Mike's favorite soccer team from Poland. Needless to say just weeks after Mikey was born Daddy came home with this adorable, kick a*# soccer jersey. So, here they are... in their matching jerseys. I love you two!!!

Just in case you were wondering what Mikey is doing with his hand... he is waving!

P.S. the green froggy slippers are Mommy's touch. ;-)

Happy Heart Day!!!

Aren't these beautiful? Okay, I didn't get these for Valentine's day but I did get them as a welcome home gift on Friday. Close enough! ;-)

We are still fighting the plague that we picked up in Omaha around here. Now poor Daddy has it too! It's safe to say our family will be staying home this Valentine's Day. There is nothing like some good snuggling on a cold, snowy Heart Day! I wish everyone out there a wonderful and HEALTHY Valentine's Day!!!

Omaha

Mikey and I had the pleasure of going to visit Aunt Becca and cousin Normy for the past week. It was so nice to see her... for those of you who don't know, Becca is my oldest and one of my dearest friends. I love her to pieces and appreciate her having us visit while she is 37 weeks pregnant. ( I know company can be exhausting in the third trimester) It was such a treat to see our boys together. Sure, they had their moments of pushing and stealing toys... but they are boys after all.

I love this picture... she makes pregnancy look even more beautiful than it already is.

Mikey and Mommy

We went out to dinner twice while I was there and BOTH times our boys feel asleep before we made it to the restaurant.

Oh no! Don't sleep yet buddy.... it's time to eat!

Old Chicago Pizza... yummy!

The boys playing together....

Once again... thank you so much for everything Becca. I really enjoyed my time with you and our boys. I needed that more than I knew and I can't wait to meet the new addition to your family. I hope you had a great birthday, maybe we can do the same thing for my birthday this year here in Madison. ;-)

It's ducky time!

There is nothing like a nice warm bath after going to the doctors to soothe the aches and pains. Mikey had to get some follow up blood work yesterday morning. It isn't anything serious. The kiddo was a little anemic at his 9 mo check-up (which is normal for preemies) so we've been on iron supplements for the last 4 wks. Turns out, that was all he needed because his iron is back up right where we want it. Yeah! Although he didn't agree when they took two viles of blood! It just wasn't a good day for him, he's also teething and was up every two hours for the last two nights. He is a tough little guy though... he still has a big smile on his face!

Don't you just love the ducky tub!

Bath time = fun time!

I did mention that he's been keeping Mommy awake at night? This is a good example of what we look like except imagine a cranky baby. He was up and ready to tackle the day a little bit earlier than Mommy had wanted. Oh well, what's a girl to do? Lucky for me Smoochie had my morning cup of tea ready. What good hubby. ;-)

Come on Mom, let's go! Chloe wants to go potty and I want to go play!

Back in business

It has been far too long, I know. I don't know what happened, but the computer kept saying it couldn't find any new images when I tried to import the photos from the camera. Well that is fixed now thanks to my hubby, thank you Smoochie!

So, what have we been up to? During the holidays we had family staying with us for three weeks straight! While it is nice to have them around it is also nice to settle back into your normal routine.

Mikey is growing leaps and bounds. He is pulling himself up on anything that will stand still. I still can't believe it. He has been doing this for about two weeks now so he started just after nine months. I tell you, it is just insane how fast he is growing up. I feel like I blink and he is doing something new. Just today he started trying to wave. It is sooooo cute! Yet, with each new exciting thing he masters he loses a bit of his babyness. (Is that a word?) What else is new? Let's see... he is eating solids with his four teeth.Yes he had four teeth. This is fun I must admit... I now have someone to eat every meal with! He is sooo adorable. Mikey likes just about everything we have fed him, except the blue cheese dressing we gave him... it was immediately followed by the gag reflex. I can't say I blame him though... I'm not much of a blue cheese fan myself.

Okay enough of the chatting... here are the latest and greatest pictures.

Yes, that is the dogs bed.

He's not too happy that Mommy keeps taking him off the doggy bed.

Sorry for the delay folks

I was informed the other day by my loving husband that he has received some requests from family for the blog to be updated. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is a temporary hold on any new pictures being added to the blog. No, I'm not holding the pictures hostage or anything like that. It appears my camera card is the culprit here. The computer is not recognizing any images from my camera card, thus no new pictures on the blog.

Mikey is doing fantastic though. He has been keeping everyone busy giving guided tours around the apartment. The only thing he wants to do right now is walk (that is where the "guided" part comes in, seeing how he can't walk yet on his own). He loves being in the kitchen with Mommy... well okay, he loves being anywhere Mommy is right now. There is a fascination with the kitchen though which Daddy and I find quite interesting.

Mikey had enjoyed having his Grandma Robin in town for the last week and I'm sure he will miss her when she leaves today. Which is why I must cut this post short... I have to take Grandma to the airport and spend a little time with her rather than on the computer. I hope you all understand and I apologize for the technical difficulties. We will work as fast as possible (we are a bit like the Slowsky's though... the turtles from the comcast commercial... if you haven't seen it you must) to get some new pictures up for all to get their Mikey fix.
