Happy Birthday Baby!!!

It is absolutely amazing how fast times goes by. I know I said this on my last post, I know. Yesterday was my son's first b-day. I can't believe it. He is a year old! Somebody pinch me. He has changed my life in so many wonderful ways. He has taught me to love more than I ever thought was possible. He has taught me to be patient and to enjoy the right here and now. I am a better person because of him. I find it all so amazing as he can only say Mama, Dada and Baba. It just goes to show you that actions speak so much louder than words ever can.

Yesterday we had a birthday party for him with a bunch of other little kiddo's and I can honestly say he had a blast. I apologize for not being able to show you any pictures yet as our camera broke and I am waiting for a friend to email me the pictures she took for us. Anyhow, it was a fantastic time. Mikey had vanilla cupcakes that I made with blue frosting and we had blue frosting covering every inch of his body. It was fantastic! Mikey was spoiled and is now the proud owner of at least 6 new trucks and all sorts of other great toys. There is not a lack of anything fun to do around our house ( that is if you fall under the age of 3). I just want to thank everyone that came, you all truly made the day even more special than it already was.

Anyhow, here are a few pictures from the day our little guy blessed us with his presence in this World. I would also like to say Thank you so much to my son for being the most wonderful son a mother could ever ask for. I love you soooo, soooo much! Muah!

Happy Anniversary!

I can't believe it. A year of marriage has come and gone. My whole life I've been listening to people say how time fly's (when you're having fun). It really is true... a year, wow!
A year ago today I was lying in a hospital bed in Jacksonville, FL listening to the sound of my son's heartbeat from the monitors. The previous evening in the middle of the night I woke to a warm feeling between my legs. I must admit the first thought that came to my head was not... oh crap, my water just broke. No... it was more along the lines... did I just wet the bed??? Sure enough.... I didn't wet the bed, although things would have been much easier had I wet the bed. You see I was only 32 weeks pregnant. Just a little too early for my water to break. So off we frantically went to the hospital (with not even a bag as I had not thought to pack one yet). Who packs a bag for the hospital with 8 weeks to go? Okay... I'm sure some smart people are prepared... I however, was not. Not for any of it.
You see, Mike and I were supposed to have a beautiful beach wedding that following Saturday with our family and a few close friends. I had everything ready and I felt good about our upcoming wedding. I was dreaming about my Dad walking me down the boardwalk to give me away to my handsome husband to be. Well, a dream it was. We were informed at the hospital that I would not be going anywhere until the baby came and they (all of us in fact) were hoping that the baby would stay right where he was for a good bit longer.
So, we realized that our wedding was not going to take place... at least not the way we had planned. I can't remember for the life of me (I've been trying to remember all day) who's idea it was? Did Smoochie think of it or did I? Oh well, one of us came up with the idea not to wait until we left the hospital. We thought, hey... let's go ahead and get married here! So we called and had our new plan put into action. We would get married that night. So, with my Mom on speaker phone, Mike's Mom on speaker phone and my Dad and step-Mom present we tied the knot in my hospital bed. As we said our vows to each other we heard our son's steady heart beat on the monitor. Some might say we were crazy... I think it was the most romantic of any wedding I've ever attended. So my dress was a pink hospital gown and we made my bouquet out of flowers that some friends had sent us. We had each other and that was all that mattered. To this day, no matter what comes my way I know that we will be okay.
I love my husband so much! He has a wonderful spontaneity about him that always has a way of brightening any day. He gave me the most beautiful son and we have another miracle on the way. I know I can always count on him and in this day and age, that is a miracle. He's a sexy husband, witty friend and a fantastic father. In short, I'm blessed and so lucky to have him in my life. I love you very much Smoochie and can't imagine my world without you in it. Thank you for all you do and the love you bestow on me. Happy Anniversary!

Boys will be boys

So while Mommy is busy packing for our trip to Florida she notices it is a little too quiet. As any good Mommy knows... quiet means only one thing... trouble. So, I go to check and what do I find? My child has used his books as a ladder to get to the radio. Thankfully they aren't too high and even if he fell he couldn't really hurt himself. Can I just tell all of you though how proud he was of himself? Mikey has been trying to figure out how to get to the radio for a good while now.

Look Mom!

This is wonderful!!!

The look of determination.

P.S. This will most likely be the last post for the nest week and a half (or so) as we will be on vacation and you all know how that goes. At least for me, blogging and vacation don't go together. However, I'm sure we will have some fantastic pics when we get back that all the snow birds will be envious of. ;-)

Look Mom! I'm ready for the Florida sun, now I can play ALL day at the beach!!!

You know you are tired when...

Yes, when you fall asleep at the table. I must say I have never done this, but according to my hubby's parents he fell asleep when he was little at the table too. Like father like son.
