Locks of Love

Before
After

I did it. I literally chopped my hair off. I've been dreaming about it for some time now. I couldn't quite figure what to make of it. I'm sure there is some great explanation out there in a dream book. I did find the following: To dream that you are cutting your hair, suggests that you are experiencing a loss in strength. You may feel that someone is trying to censor you. Alternatively, you may be reshaping your thinking or ambitions and eliminating unwanted thoughts/habits.

I don't believe that's it. I don't know... Smoochie are you trying to censor me? ;-) I might be trying to reshape my ambitions. I like that. I've been trying to be healthier. I want to make my body and ideal place to grow another baby (more on that in a later post). I've been going to the gym and I feel great. I still didn't feel like that was why I kept dreaming of cutting my hair.

I think I wanted to do something for someone else. I watch a program on locks of love a while ago... probably over a year. I remember being so impacted by this. I watched these women and girls sit there and have their long, beautiful locks cut off. A minimum of 10 inches is required. I remember thinking to myself what a great thing to do. I mean it's hair after all and for most of us it grows back. I'm one of those lucky people whose hair will grow back. I don't know if I will grow it back... I'm kinda digging my new hair style. On the other hand I could grow my hair back again and donate again. Why not, right? I really wanted to do this and I'm happy I did. The only thing that would be even better is for someone else to see this and be inspired to do something similar. Do something nice for someone else. Something that will change a complete strangers life... without expecting a thank you in return. That part is my favorite. I'm going to help someone else and I will never meet this person. I think it's kind cool.

Wet

Our house has an 'ouchie' as Mikey calls it.

As soon as he saw it he ran to the kitchen and came running back with the step stool. I received a very serious look from him and he said, "Mommy, I fix it.... I fix the ouchie".

Luckily it was fixed with one call to the roofer and a little sealant. No biggie.

We went to Memory Lanes Farm to run through the pumpkin patch and go for a wagon ride with our Moms group. It was drizzling on us, but that did not stop this group.

It was soo much fun.... we can't wait to go back at Christmas time for a sleigh ride and hot cocoa. Yummy! Now, this is what being a kid is all about.

Wisconsin rocks! (Leaky roof and all). ;-)

I can get used to this...

Bag of marshmallows: $1.49

Warm and cozy winter coat so you can snuggle with your Daddy by the fire: $29.99

Using the word 'Please' every time he asks for another marshmallow:
Priceless.

Yup, it's snowing

I'm sorry everyone... I LOVE it!

It's so beautiful.
I'll let you know how I feel about it again in April.
I just might have a different feeling about the snow then.
Maybe...

Family Vacations

We were blessed and had both sides of the family get together at the same time. We had been wanting to go to Door County for several years now and decided what better way to spend time with your family then to take them to a cottage in Door County. It was just beautiful. We spent the days exploring the little nearby villages, going on picturesque row boat rides, playing in the sand on the beaches and ending the day with the entire family sitting around a bonfire roasting sausages and marshmallows. It truly was a great time, a time which I will never forget.

A bubble bath is an absolute necessity after a long day playing on the sandy beaches.

Down time... watching the morning PBS cartoons

Yummy

Mikey helping Dzia-Dzia keep the fire going and giving Mommy a heart attack. A little too close to the fire for Mommy's sanity.

Mikey and Chloe... reunited at last.

We're all turning into cheese heads!

Even the little one is a cheese head!

Airplane ride anyone?

Why is it boys can never keep their pants on?

Great-Grandma and Mikey... precious.

Some people enjoy going to a restaurant to eat...
others like to play with cho-choos.

Can you believe she's 91? She can run circles around all of us.

Good times.

My first attempt at making homemade bread. It was delicious... Mikey at 3 pieces. No more store bought bread for this family.

Can I bring Lion to church Mommy?

Our trip back to Madison
No trip to Madison is complete without a stop to visit Joe-Joe, Will, Danika and Lee. The boys had such a great time playing... it's so sad that we live 2 1/2 hrs away now.

Our good friends... can't wait to see you guys again. Soon, right?
